What is chronic pain?
Everyone experiences occasional aches and pains. But the one that lasts for longer periods is chronic pain. The pain may feel sharp or dull, causing a burning or aching sensation in the affected areas. It may be steady or intermittent, coming and going without any apparent reason. Chronic pain can occur in nearly any part of your body. The pain can feel different in the various affected areas.

What Causes Chronic Pain?
There are many causes of chronic pain. It may have started from an illness or injury, from which you may have long since recovered from, but the pain remained. Or there may be an ongoing cause of pain, such as arthritis or cancer. Many people suffer chronic pain in the absence of any past injury or evidence of illness.
